Looking for some "handbooks" by Andreas Birken
Nov 14th, 2014, 11:43pm

Hello!

I found this forum while surfing the net and I can say that this is serendipity without doubt. For I could not find any media where I can ask about and possibly get answers about some specific philatelic literature.

I am looking desperately for some books written by Andreas Birken over the Ottoman Empire and Turkish philately.

I ordered a CD-ROM copy of the books but since I am also a bibliophile, I am trying to complete a 3-hard-copy-set of each of these books for my 3 separate libraries.

I thought I might try my chance asking it here in this forum.

The books I'm seeking are sub-volumes which were published in different years under the titel, "Handbuch der türkischen Philatelie Teil I: Osmanisches Reich" by the above mentioned author.

The titles of these volumes are:

1. Kleine Farbenlehre (x2)
2. Die Zeitrechnung (x1)
3. Die Ganzsachen (x2)
4. Die Postgebühren (x3)

I'd be grateful for any advise that would lead me to collect these books.

Thanks very much.

Dear tonyevans1, john66251 and Roos,

Thank you very much for your warm welcome messages and kind help with the links to the books.

Please accept my apologies for not responding sooner: Although I follow the thread, I wasn't comfortable in writing a reply on the mobile phone.

I contacted te seller of delcampe link, but unfortunately, learned that it was already sold.

I checked the eBay link and I think I'll be buying it shortly.

On the other hand, the zobbel link only gives the list of the philatelic literature.
(But still, it was a sweet link for I found other interesting titles of my topic.)

I'd like to thank you once more for your kindness.

Now, I'll be checking the forum site from time to time to see if there are new responses.
