Skippys' comment on "Someone telling you to clean up" made me think of this. Partner decided to "Clean Up" the coffee table last week.(It had 2 things on it)  Roll Eyes I had left an envelope from one of the GOMC on it, so he decided to "Save the Stamps" for me and cut them off the envelope.  Cry Sad

Well locally they are getting about 30c each for them !!
To be fair they are difficult to find in good USED order.

I have several Booklets that are surplus to my requirements in UHM condition but the real challenge is to get them correctly used.

Cheers

Roly

Well my NZ private mail ones arrived and heres a few...
I've never seen these before and their not bad. The Birds a nice.

The Little Silver Eye (middle left) is cute and their sitting in the Plum tree outside my window right now. So their in NZ and Aus.

The pack contained about 500 of them.

Is there a catalogue list of what's been released? There are 3 different companies here in the ones I got.

PS - Which ones should I be on the lookout for #13?

Woody, stop playing with those stamps (as nice as they are, I quite like the blue swamp hen thing the best) and get your entry in for Exhibition 3

Ha ! Woody, you got your entry in , good on you.
very interesting piece
I've just been off googling about stamp gum ! Cheesy

An early newspaper report quotes Perkins stating the adhesive is "potatoe starch and perfectly innocuous"   Wink

Thought you might like to read it

Hi Skip,
Excellent - I've saved that paper. Thanks!

Although I do know whats in the old gum now, (and the paper was 1844), but when first invented the fellow wouldnt tell anyone and never did! Unless he sold it to PB?

Or I suppose they just found out by trial and error. My guess is, in the end the printers made sure they had their own supply/recipe for qualtiy control and guranteed supply. (Same goes for Ink).

Hmmmm

Woody have a look at a Blog I wrote on this series for another Board.

http://www.myphilately.com/blg_view.php?blog_id=2303&_frm=0&blog_id=2303...

I write under the pseudonym of James on that Board (don't ask, it's a long story).

You have three possible gooduns.  The shirt on the fence, the cricket stumps and the kiwi fruit are possibles if the have a horizontal mesh.

Otherwise you are on the money really.  Keep are real good eye open for any of these stamps that have "kiwi stamp" printed in Silver, they are worth gold now.

I put a collection of these together ie. The series in Boxed format, Booklet format, Sheetlet format and Jumbo Sheet format as shown on the above blog together with a set of picture envelopes hand cancelled and a set of Commercial used covers for $AUD90.oo.  All the stamps are perfectly cleaned, remember these are self adhesives!!

If asked real nicely I normally throw in a series or two (again perfectly cleaned) of the NZMail's Smiley

Cheers, drop me an email if you want further info

Roly

Wow, how many varieties of print!
Nice blog James! Not allowed to use Jeeves!? hehehe.

Now I've got to search through the 250 I bought. I just guessed they looked like a set and scanned 10.

Does anyone print a catalogue of these yet, or are they in the normal catalogues?

This is getting interesting...

I'm off to sniff (sorry err soak) some Fuellite/Shellite  Roll Eyes

Sorry, yes got it!
Busy proof reading the NZ album pages as I want to start packing them up ready to post.

I've gone through the stamps though, at a glance and have 3 different perfs on the lawn mower stamp. I call them 3 points, 2 points and 1 point perfs?

Also found an unusual Petes Post 35c. 4 of them black egded and glossy, 1 matt ink with no black border diff perfs but same scene same price.

I'll be in touch...

Thanks "James!" hehehe
